Danielle C. Ellis MA, MCJ, LPC, NCC

Counselor & Psychotherapist

Danielle "Dani" Christine Ellis is the owner of Wellness Solutions and has provided outpatient counseling, coaching, and psychotherapy to The Woodlands and surrounding communities for nearly twenty years. Dani has a Bachelors in Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans, a Masters in Professional Counseling Psychology (MA) from Argosy University Atlanta, and a Masters in Criminal Justice Administration (MCJ) from Loyola University New Orleans. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and she is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is certified through the International Critical Incident & Stress Management Foundation (ICISM) to offer Critical Incident Debriefings (CID). Dani provides person centered care, mindfulness-based therapies, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Dani completed her counseling practicum at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the Tau Center. She later returned to OLOL providing intake assessments, referrals, and placement with the COPE Team for mental health and substance abuse treatment. She has experience working in both mental health and substance abuse partial hospitalization programs (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). In her early career she provided case management for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics with developmental disabilities, serious medical conditions, and chronic mental illnesses. She also provided case management for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics in the inpatient and intermediate levels of care for mental health, substance abuse, and eating disorders with UnitedHealthcare / United Behavioral Health / Optum Behavioral Health in Houston, Texas. She provided crisis intervention, individual counseling, and group counseling to homeless adolescents, expectant mothers, and postpartum mothers at Covenant House Houston. Dani has experience providing in-home mental health services to seriously mentally ill (SMI) children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics through DebLin Health Concepts. She also conducted Children's Protective Services (CPS) Kinship Home Assessments providing assessment and placement recommendations in Texas. Dani has provided outpatient counseling, coaching, and psychotherapy as an independent practitioner at Wellness Solutions, LLC for both in-person and later exclusively via telehealth for clients located in the state of Texas.

Dani sees clients for individual, adult, clients 18 years of age and older. She provides counseling, coaching, and psychotherapy. She accepts clients who have mild, moderate, or severe mental and behavioral health concerns, substance abuse and chemical dependency, eating disorders, self-injurious behaviors, and trauma recovery. She sees clients for stress management, anxiety, healthy relationship skill development, and other problems of everyday living.

 

Dani also provides seminars on mindfulness skills, boundary setting, and identifying potential red flag behaviors that indicate the potential for abuse and predatory behaviors. Dani welcomes clients from all races, religions, spiritual beliefs, and orientations. She believes in an open minded approach and respect for all cultural backgrounds, spiritual beliefs, and lifestyles.

Dani has an eclectic approach to therapy based on strong client centered values. She challenges and encourages her clients to take personal responsibility and develop strategies to alleviate their distress. Dani has a welcoming, familiar, informal, and amicable personality that conveys support, healing, and positivity. She believes her privileged position as an advocate, healer, and counselor is an opportunity to be a positive force for change in the lives of her clients. Dani’s personal style is transparent, forthright, direct, and candid. She incorporates humor, wit, and common sense into the counseling session. Her clinical style is direct and politely confrontational, as well as, encouraging, compassionate, understanding, and respectful. She engages clients to develop insight with a reality based grounded approach.

Dani is sensitive to the personal suffering of her clients and understands that entering into therapy is a daunting process that only comes from a sincere desire to make positive changes in one's life. Dani views the therapeutic relationship as a unique opportunity for clients to discuss their emotional issues in a real and honest way. Clients benefit from an impartial observer in their lives as a guide to explore their fears and intimate thoughts. The therapeutic relationship is based on trust, hope, healing, and compassion. Therapy is based on an evidenced based empirical approach to treatment. She uses mindfulness techniques to help clients develop coping skills, improve self-understanding, and actively create the lives they aspire and dream to attain.

Dani lives in Houston, TX with her husband. They enjoy outdoor adventures including "glamping" and exploring the Louisiana and Texas coasts in their kayaks. She is a Harry Potter nerd aka "Potter Head" and enjoys other nerd fandoms like Game of Thrones, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings. Dani also enjoys spending time with her much beloved and adored "furry babies". She has three dogs which include a Neapolitan Mastiff named Maynard, a Border Collie named Rukkus, and a Golden Retriever named Davos. Rukkus and Davos are in training to be emotional support/therapy animals and will be part of the WS counseling experience once they complete their canine education. She also has four saltwater aquariums which include coral, clown fish, starfish, an octopus, and an angler fish. She is a student of Eastern philosophy and the martial arts. She has practiced Aikido and Kenpo. She enjoys yin yoga, athletic training, traveling, equestrian sports, music, gardening, crafts, reading fiction and true crime, writing, cooking, and is a lifelong learner.

Jason Stewart, LPC

Counselor & Psychotherapist

​​Jason is a native of West Texas and has worked with clients of all ages. His experience includes crisis intervention, individual counseling, and group counseling. Jason has extensive experience with the diagnosis and treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, stress-related disorders, boundary setting, and codependency. He has worked with local and state agencies providing services to indigent mental health clients, correctional institutions and prisons, protective services, and non-profit community agencies.

​

Jason has over fifteen years of experience in the field, providing counseling and psychotherapy for mental and behavioral health and substance abuse. He completed his undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX, and went on to complete his graduate studies at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX. He has been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas since 2013.

Jason provides direct observation and feedback to clients with a compassionate and supportive disposition. He demonstrates understanding and a positive, healing presence with his clients. He enjoys assisting his clients in developing their personal strengths and overcoming the challenges of life stressors and trauma. Clients report they appreciate Jason's combination of being an astute listener and providing useful feedback and recommendations. He balances direct recommendations and feedback with compassion and respect for a client's autonomy on their change journey. Clients describe Jason as having a gentle and caring personality with a strong positive presence offering support and validation. Jason believes in empowering his clients to seek a positive perspective in the areas of life where they may be struggling.

Jason provides an honest, sincere, and kind treatment presence with clients who are struggling while maintaining direct, informed, experienced, and forthcoming communication.

 

Jason is an active member of his church community and is a person of faith who enjoys volunteering and advocacy. He is also an active member of the recovery community where he attends groups, mentors through sponsorship, chairs meetings, is a key speaker, and supports others through the fellowship of the 12 Step community. He is especially adept and empathetic towards clients managing medical illnesses that influence their mental health and well-being. As someone who actively manages diabetes and is a double kidney transplant recipient, he supports the transplant community as a public speaker advocating for hope and healing for patients on transplant lists. He is compassionate and understanding of the challenges clients face when managing serious medical illnesses, including the bureaucracy of the healthcare environment, and the complexity of medical and emotional stressors.

Jason is married and enjoys traveling and attending college football games with his wife. During his leisure time, he enjoys reading, history, and watching Red Raider sports. He is an avid gamer on both computer and console games. He has a great sense of humor and is known to show up to his nephews' school pick-up line (and sometimes Wellness Solutions team meetings) wearing superhero masks. He is also an avid music lover with an appreciation of diverse genres including country music and grunge. He brings his introverted, creative, and authentic personality to his sessions, combining authenticity and genuineness with professionalism and experience.

Jason is based in Odessa, Texas, and accepts clients from all over Texas as he provides telehealth services.  â€‹Jason is accepting clients with the following payer sources: Private Insurance, Private Pay, and Sliding Scale.​ He is an in-network provider for Aetna, Anthem, BCBS, BCBS of TX, Cigna/Evernorth, ComPsych, Magellan, OPTUM Behavioral, United HealthCare (UHC), and UMR. (This is not an extensive list of insurances accepted.)

Sarah Messersmith

Office Manager & Super Hero

​Sarah is our office manager who provides Wellness Solutions with all administrative and billing services to our clients. She ensures our clients have an encouraging and positive presence throughout their care that is available to support client requests for scheduling, insurance, billing, outreaches, and crisis intervention. 

​

Sarah has extensive experience in implementing personnel policies and procedures, onboarding, conducting new hire orientation, and training in a clinical setting. Her expertise primarily includes working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, adolescents and families in crisis, individuals with dual diagnoses, de-escalation techniques, and trauma-informed care.

​

Our clients adore engaging with Sarah and will often text her updates on their successes. Sarah enjoys connecting with clients and being an active part of the Wellness Solutions care team by being the primary point of contact to assist clients with their questions, scheduling, and payment needs. 

​

Throughout her career, Sarah has opened over 20 licensed facilities and assisted countless individuals in transitioning out of state centers in Central Pennsylvania, supporting their goals of independence and autonomy. She has partnered with advocacy groups to provide clients with wrap-around services, facilitating successful independent living.

​

Sarah is experienced as a trainer in medication administration, budgeting, policy regulations, personnel policies and procedures, ISPs, IEPs, and the implementation and writing of behavioral support plans, crisis plans, and socio-emotional environmental plans. She also has expertise in government billing administration, emergency incident management/HCSIS, quality assurance, and project management.

​

Sarah describes her role with WS as follows:

"My hope is to deliver an experience that incorporates positive and professional delivery of services. My goal is to assist WS clientele so they feel understood with personable, relatable customer service while being treated with dignity and respect. I have extensive professional experience in social work, both with direct care and managerial roles. I enjoy helping others by utilizing my skills and experience with business development in human service organizations."

Sarah is located in rural Pennsylvania. She lives with her husband and three furry canine children. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her large extended family, caring for her three dogs, gardening, cooking, and wildlife conservation. She also enjoys traveling, documentaries, and gaming. She enjoys true crime and advocacy for victims' rights.
