Danielle "Dani" Ellis is a licensed psychotherapist who helps people having difficulty coping with emotional problems that are affecting their peace of mind and quality of life. She assists her clients by focusing on an individual’s resilience. Counseling & coaching is based on a wellness perspective where an individual's strengths are valued, encouraged, and cultivated. Individuals are understood as a person rather than focusing on their symptoms or diagnosis.
Dani uses an eclectic approach to counseling, coaching, and psychotherapy believing that healing should be personal and individualized to each client's unique goals. She utilizes holistic mental health counseling along with traditional psychotherapy based on a person's individual needs and values. She takes an integrative approach that combines the Western medical model along with holistic, alternative, and multi-disciplinary treatments. Based on a client's needs she may recommend healthy lifestyle interventions along with psychotherapy which may include changes to one's schedule, time management, or nutritional supplements. Dani collaborates with treatment team members and may recommend referrals to nutritionists, psychiatrists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to help clients receive the best possible care and achieve their best selves.
Counseling can include validating one’s feelings, thoughts, ideas, and behaviors. Clients may be challenged to overcome barriers, confront patterns of behavior that perpetuate unhealthy cycles, develop new skills, and create actionable change in their lives. Clients who have experienced traumatic events or experienced abuse are supported, empowered, and receive assistance reframing their victimization into a survivorhood. Trauma recovery and resolution is characterized as a process of healing that takes place throughout the life span. Dani uses skills building and mindfulness based therapy techniques to help clients develop insight and coping skills to improve their lives and relationships. She believes in helping others through healing, compassion, and understanding.
